More About Me

Over 30 years experience as a professional musician, performing folk song and traditional dance music of the British Isles on tenor banjo and mandolin.

Largely self taught, I am aware of the difficulties and obstacles faced by students at all levels, and the benefit of good tuition in overcoming them.


Using a combination of music notation, tablature and playing by ear, I enable and encourage the student to develop sound technique, a useful repertoire, musical knowledge and confidence.

Whatever your goal- concert performance, joining in sessions or playing at home- I can help you to succeed.

Newly relocated to Central Scotland, I welcome enquiries from students of all ages and abilities. It's never to late to learn.
